That's right, we've decided to give Critique Week a makeover and make it so that you can enjoy it more. At least we hope so.
For those who don't want to read the whole blurb, here the changes in a nutshell:

:bulletgreen: New name: Critique Swap
:bulletgreen: Extended to two weeks instead of one
:bulletgreen: If you receive a critique, giving one back is mandatory (don't be afraid of the word "critique"!)
:bulletyellow: No competition, at least for now

:bulletgreen: Starts now! Ends May 21st

So, how does it work?
You want feedback on your work? Unsure if you got the tone right? Submit it to the Critique Swap folder! Submission is open during the next two weeks, but your work will remain in the folder indefinitely, so that there's always a chance you'll get the feedback you looked for. Of course, once you received helpful feedback, you should return the favor and give some back. You may also ask a question in the artist's comments so that potential critiquers have something of an incentive to write on.
And, on a side note, don't be afraid just because this event has the word "critique" in its name. As stated above, this is about giving helpful feedback, not about "write a thoughtful, in-depth critique of at least 500 words!", although "thoughtful" in itself would be appreciated.
You might want to ask "what became of the feature for the most helpful feedback?" It's on hold for now. We might reintroduce it at some point, but we first need to see if the current changes make reception of this event any better.

Any questions? Write a comment.

Also something I, as the moderator of this event, would like to know: If you don't want to participate, why not? I'd like to hear your reasons.

Is there a time limit for returning critiques? I know you said that things remain in the folder indefinitely, but the way it was phrased seemed to imply that the focus was really on just the next two weeks.

I'd quite like to submit something, but I'm in the middle of exams. I don't really want to commit to having to read too much else in the next couple of weeks.
